Distribution and biology. So far this species is known only from remaining rainforests on the eastern part of Madagascar, specifically from areas surrounding Moramanga and nearby Analamazaotra National Park, here in the secondary but well-preserved forest at an elevation of about 960 m a.s.l. where it was found on drying and dead wood of smaller dimensions (up to 20 cm in diameter). The specific habitat requirement of species remains unknown.
