Antodynerus natalensis ( de Saussure, 1855) View in CoL

( Fig. 35 View FIGURE 35 )

Odynerus (Odynerus) natalensis de Saussure 1855: 261 , ♁—“ Les terres du cap de Bonne-Espérance, Port-Natal” (holotype MHNG).

Rhynchium incensum Gribodo 1895: 95 View in CoL , ♀ —“Pinetown” (holotype MSNG).

Distribution. Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Zimbabwe ( Cameron 1910b; Carpenter et al. 2009; de Saussure 1855, 1890; Gess 1981; Giordani Soika 1937, 1973; Gribodo 1895; von Schulthess 1928b).

Remarks. This species and its subspecies were transferred to the genus Antodynerus by Giordani Soika (1965), but then the same author moved it into Anterhynchium without providing reason for this change ( Giordani Soika 1983). This placement is obviously wrong, as this taxon shows characters that do not match this genus: tegula large and exceeding parategula, S2 strongly depressed with a strong basal median furrow, prestigma shorter than half pterostigma, axillary fossa not slitlike. These characters allow considering the correct placement of this species in Antodynerus .
