ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1863: 33.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ Chiliae [ Chile]” .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, syntype ( MZUN: Box Antomidei A 02,01): Anthomyia chrysostoma Rnd. , Chili [= Chile] / M. Zool. N.° 11414 .

CURRENT STATUS: valid species, unplaced to genus of Anthomyiidae ( Pont 1974: 10) View in CoL .

REMARKS: Rondani (1863: 33) described Anthomyia chrysostoma , from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, from material received from R.A. Philippi, to whom he attributed the species name. One syntype was found in this study.
