12. Angela peruviana ( Giglio-Tos, 1916) [MD]
Thespis peruviana Giglio-Tos, 1916
Type locality. Giglio-Tos (1916): Madre de Dios ( Peru).
Examined material. MADRE DE DIOS: 1 ♂ (HOLOTYPE), 500m Ob[ere] Madre de Dios [=upper Madre de Dios river] (Garlepp V. leg.) ( MFNB).
Remarks. The patterning of the hindwings of the male holotype of peruviana is comparable to that of the widespread guianensis , and both species are knwon from Madre de Dios, in southeastern Peru. We believe both names likely refer to the same species. Future taxonomic treatments of Angela must rule out this possible synonym.
