[ Holotype: ANSP (4024); ♀ Southern California, US, 1880 ]

Andrena subchalybea specializes on pollen from Agoseris Raf. and Lasthenia Cass. (Thorp 1969) . This species has been reported in BC state ( Ayala et al. 1996). There is one record of A. subchalybea collected in April 1961 from Chaparral area near the boundary with the Lower Colorado Desert. The specimen is vouchered at INHS ( GBIF 2023). We reviewed nine females collected in April 1939 in the Succulent Coastal Sage in Rosarito Beach ( CASC). See fig. 11.
