Features:Length 90–110 μm, width15–28 μm, striae 8–10 in 10 μm on the dorsal side, 14–16 in 10μm on the ventral side.

Description: valves dorsiventral, semi-elliptic with rounded apices. Dorsal margin arched, ventral margin straight to slightly concave.Axial area very narrow, central area small. Raphe biarcuate, proximal endings bent dorsally. Dorsal striae coarsely punctate.

Remarks: Specimens observed are rather smaller than those reported elsewhere and having slightly denser striae.

Ecology and Distribution: Widely distributed marine species but can also be found in inland water with high alkalinity. Not recorded previously form the Gulf. Frequent in Basra corals.
