Amphinemura latifollicula Du & Wang View in CoL , sp. nov.

( Figs. 23–29 View FIGURES 23 – 29 )

Adult habitus. Head and antennae pale brown; head wider than pronotum, pronotum brown, paler than head with darker rugosities; wings hyaline, veins brown; legs brown.

Male. Forewing length 7.5 mm, hind wing length 6.3 mm. Tergum 9 lightly sclerotized and constricted medially with a line of long spines along the posterior margin. Tergum 10 lightly sclerotized, a rounded membranous concavity present below the epiproct, with few denticles scattered anterolaterally, anterior margin forming a short sclerotized bar. Hypoproct broad at base, tapering to a bluntly rounded apex that partially covers the inner lobes of paraprocts; vesicle length 4X width. Paraprocts divided into 3 lobes, inner lobe heavily sclerotized along midline; median lobe lightly sclerotized, narrowed at middle and curved dorsally, forming an elongate, rounded, membranous apex with four strong spines and several other smaller spines located at or near the apex; outer lobe sclerotized, with two large, strong black spines at tip. Epiproct sclerotized and enlarged apicolaterally, dorsal sclerite lightly sclerotized, with a notch at tip; lateral arms darkly sclerotized, a pair of lateral projections extending from lateral arms, pointed posterolaterally, each with several small, blunt denticles apically; ventral sclerite broad at base, reaching over the tip of dorsal sclerite, forming a long, enlarged keel with a row of black spines ventrally.

Female. Unknown.

Type material. Holotype male, CHINA: Gongshan, Gaoli village, Baoshan city, Yunnan province, 19 Sep. 2006, Leg. Wang Xing–Min.

Etymology. The name refers to a pair of vesicle–shaped projections extending from the lateral arms of the epiproct. The Latin latus means broad or wide, while follicula is a small purse.

Remarks. This new species is similar to Amphinemura ovalis Li & Yang 2005 , but the new species has two vesicle–shaped projections extending from the end of the lateral arms, while in A. ocalis , the epiproct is elongate with the dorsal sclerite having two slender, darkly sclerotized, lateral bands. Additionally, the new species has two large, strong black spines located on the outer lobe of the paraproct, while in A. ocalis the outer lobe of the paraproct has a subapical, black spine and a pointed tip.
