Amblyseius (Amblyseius) usitatus Van der Merwe, 1965: 71; 1968: 140.
Specimens examined: Site 942, 1 female; Site 945, 3 females; Site 9416, 8 females.
Amblyseius usitatus is an endemic South African species that was described from grass and Prunus at Potchefstroom (Van der Merwe, 1965, 1968). In the present survey it was found at scattered localities, but was always rare, with only 12 specimens in the entire survey.
