FEMALE (Specimens measured – Benin: 1, Burundi: 2, Cameroon: 1, Ghana: 2, Kenya: 7, Sierra Leone: 2, Uganda: 3, Zaire: 3).

Dorsum ­ Dorsal shield with a few lateral striations anterior to z4, 323(291­408) long, 219(200­274) wide. Setae j1 27(26­35), j3 11(10­24), j4 and j5 6(6­11), j6 8(6­14), J2 10(8­16), J5 6(5­8), z2 10(6­16), z4 10(8­16), z5 8(6­11), Z1 11(8­14), Z4 11(8­16), Z5 51(48­70), s4 14(11­29), S2 12(10­16), S4 10(8­18), S5 10(7­16), r3 14(11­22), R1 10(8­ 13). All setae smooth.

Peritreme – Reaching level of j1.

Venter ­ Ventral shields smooth. Distances between ST1­ST3 57(40­67), ST2­ST2 68(64­80), ST5­ST5 71(67­86). With 1 pair of metapodal shields. Ventrianal shield 91(88­ 120) long, 50(40­58) wide at ZV2 level and 72(62­82) wide at anus level.

Spermatheca ­ Calyx tubular, broadening gradually towards atrium, 14(11­19) long; atrium distinct.

Legs ­ Macrosetae sharp­tipped: SgeII 28(24­34), SgeIII 35(32­42), StiIII 26(22­34), SgeIV 54(50­70), StiIV 34(30­53), StIV 68(62­86).

REMARKS: The specimens from Burundi were larger than others and had proportionally larger setae.
