Meioneta minorata Chamberlin & Ivie 1944: 88 , f. 146. (Description 3). Agyneta minorata Buckle et al. 2001: 100 View in CoL . (Transferred from Meioneta ).

Type material: Meioneta minorata Chamberlin & Ivie 1944 , 3 HOLOTYPE from Georgia: East side of Okefenokee Swamp, W 82º 5’: N 30º 50’, August 23, 1933, Wilton Ivie collector ( AMNH). EXAMINED.

Diagnosis: Males are distinguised from all other species in the genus by their flared, serrated lamella characteristica, pointed apically ( Fig. 538 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). Females are diagnosed from most species by the proximal part of scape wider medially ( Fig. 543 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ) and the extremely large receptacula of the internal genitalia ( Fig. 544 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). They differ from A. minorata by the rounded epigynal slits ( Fig. 543 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ), straight in the latter ( Fig. 535 View FIGURES 529 – 537 ).

Description: Male: Total length 1.30; carapace length 0.63, width 0.47.

CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace light yellow, shiny, finely reticulate; radiating lines, margin suffused with gray. Sternum light yellow, lightly suffused with gray. Clypeus height 2. Chelicerae light yellow, excavated; setatipped tubercles absent; promargin one extra large ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 17 – 24. 17 ) and one small teeth, retromargin two denticles, retromargin with large triangular projection near base of fangs. Cheliceral stridulatory organ ~18 striae, well spaced throughout. ABDOMEN: Uniformly light gray, sometimes with off-white apical mark ( Fig. 542 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). LEGS: Light yellow; leg I total length: 2.08; leg III total length: 1.50; Tm I: 0.25, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Palpal retrolateral tibial apophysis small, smooth; dorsal tibial apophysis absent; one retrolateral trichobothria and one dorsal ( Fig. 538 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). Cymbium rounded; glabrous depression absent ( Fig. 538 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ); dorsal cymbial tubercle elongated, smooth; ventral tubercle absent; prolateral notch absent ( Fig. 539 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). Paracymbium apical pocket medium, anterior pocket absent but area rugose, posterior pocket absent ( Fig. 538 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). Embolus tip rounded, narrow; Fickert’s gland absent; ventral lamella with row of long spines; thumb highly reduced ( Fig. 540 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). Embolus proper set apically, dorsal part elongated and associated with tip of embolus ( Fig. 540 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). Anterior terminal apophysis narrow, tip with long protrusions; posterior terminal apophysis small not well sclerotized; lamella characteristica broad, serrated ( Fig. 541 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ).

MAP. 36. Localities of Agyneta minorata ( Chamberlin & Ivie 1944) .

Female: Total length 1.27; carapace length 0.50, width 0.41.

CEPHALOTHORAX: Coloration as in male. Chelicerae light yellow; promargin five teeth, retromargin four denticles. Cheliceral stridulatory organ ~16 striae, well spaced throughout. ABDOMEN: As in male. LEGS: Same coloration as male; palpal tarsus normal, claw absent; leg I total length: 1.94; leg III total length: 1.51; Tm I: 0.31, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Female epigynum with wide proximal part of scape, widest medially; epigynal slits elongated, oval; pit hook depression small ( Fig. 543 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ); lateral lobes short and wide; stretcher absent; pit small ( Fig. 545 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). Median part of scape narrow and short; genital pores situated at the base of the lateral lobes pockets ( Fig. 545 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ). Internal genitalia with large, to some extent triangular receptacula ( Figs 544, 545 View FIGURES 538 – 545 ).
