Agyneta hedini Paquin & Dupérré 2009 View in CoL , in Paquin, Dupérré & Reddell 2009: 47, f. 12–23 (Description Ƥ).

Type material: Agyneta hedini Paquin & Dupérré 2009 , 3 HOLOTYPE, Ƥ ALLOTYPE, from Colorado: Fremont Co., 13 mi N Cañon City, Five Mile Creek, Marble Cave, 6 May 1992, on ground in flood debris in dark zone of cave, M.C. Hedin ( AMNH). EXAMINED.

Diagnosis: Males and females are separated from all other species in the genus by their unique abdominal pattern ( Figs 406, 407 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). Males can be distinguished from all other species by their uniquely large, rugose ventral cymbial tubercle associated with adjacent protuberance ( Fig. 403 View FIGURES 402 – 411 arrow). Females are differentiated from all Agyneta species by the conspicuous converging copulatory ducts visible on the epigynum ( Fig. 408 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ), from A. platnicki by the converging copulatory ducts almost reaching the apex of the proximal part of scape, whereas the copulatory ducts are not reaching the proximal part of scape in A. platnicki ( Fig. 418 View FIGURES 412 – 420 ).

Description: Male: Total length 2.51; carapace length 1.09, width 0.90.

CEPHALOTHORAX: Carapace yellow, shiny, finely reticulate; margin suffused with gray. Sternum light yellow, lightly suffused with gray. Clypeus height 3. Endites with seta-tipped tubercles. Chelicerae yellow, excavated; ~ 21 seta-tipped tubercles; promargin four teeth, retromargin three denticles. Cheliceral stridulatory organ visible ~32 striae, evenly spaced. ABDOMEN: Off-white with gray pattern ( Fig. 406 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). LEGS: Light yellow; leg I total length: 5.70; leg III total length: 4.59; Tm I: 0.22, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Palpal tibia with elongated, smooth retrolateral tibial apohysis; dorsal tibial apophysis absent; two retrolateral trichobothria and a dorsal one ( Fig. 402 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). Cymbium with conical extension; glabrous depression present ( Fig. 402 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ); dorsal cymbial tubercle small; ventral tubercle rugose with associated large protuberance; prolateral notch extremely deep ( Fig. 403 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). Paracymbium apical pocket small, anterior pocket long and curved, posterior pocket absent ( Fig. 402 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). Embolus tip bent, with spiny extension apically; basally and ventrally spiny; Fickert’s gland bulbous; ventral lamella absent; thumb extending beyond the embolus proper ( Fig. 404 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). Embolus proper set medially, with transparent hooked flange ( Fig. 404 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). Anterior terminal apophysis large, sickle-shaped; posterior terminal apophysis, large, striated; lamella characteristica small, well sclerotized and bifid tip with protrusions ( Fig. 405 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ).

Female: Total length 2.37; carapace length 1.04, width 0.82.

LEGS: Same as male; palpal tarsal claw absent; leg I total length: 6.33; leg III total length: 4.27; Tm I: 0.26, Tm IV: absent. GENITALIA: Epigynum with proximal part of scape narrow, sides parallel slightly enlarging apically; epigynal slits rounded; pit hook depression absent ( Fig. 408 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ); lateral lobes elongated; stretcher small; pit deep ( Fig. 410 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). Median part of scape very narrow ( Fig. 410 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ); genital pores positioned in the beginning of median part of scape ( Fig. 411 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ). Internal genitalia with small curved, ventral receptacula, dorsal receptacula oval ( Figs 409, 410 View FIGURES 402 – 411 ).
