Type material. CHINA, Sichuan: Holotype ♁, Sanjiangcaoping Village (30.95ºN, 103.32ºE), Wenchuan , 1557 m, 12.VII.2014, leg. KJ Teng et al., slide No. ZXJ20408. GoogleMaps
Diagnosis. The new species is similar to A. introrsa sp. nov. in both forewing pattern and male genitalia. It can be distinguished in the male genitalia by the uncus represented by a papillary process and the leaf-shaped cuiller; in A. introrsa , the uncus is reduced and the cuiller is clavate. It is similar to A. capreolella ( Zeller, 1839) in the shape of the cuiller, and can be distinguished by the transtilla not widened medially and the juxta does not projected posterolaterally; in A. capreolella , the transtilla is widened medially and the juxta is projected posterolaterally ( Buchner 2017a: 4, fig. 5).
Description. Adult ( Fig. 4 View FIGURES 1‒8 ). Wingspan 20.0 mm.
Head greyish white, neck with erect scales, greyish white at base, brown distally with white tipped. Labial palpus yellowish white; basal segment black on outer surface; second segment mixed with black and greyish brown scales on outer and dorsal surfaces, worn on ventral surface; third segment black near base, with a wide black ring beyond middle, and black at apex. Antenna with scape brown, black on dorsal surface; pecten white in basal half, black in distal half except white at apex; flagellum dark brown alternated with brown.
Mesonotum and tegula greyish brown, dark brown at base. Foreleg with coxa yellowish white mixed with dense black scales, femur, tibia and tarsus black, tarsus yellowish white at base of basal tarsomere and at apices of basal two and apical one tarsomeres; femora of mid- and hindlegs black, with sparse yellowish white scales, tibia of midleg black, ochreous at middle and at apex respectively, tibia of hindleg yellowish white mixed with sparse black scales dorsally, tarsus of midleg black except yellowish white at apex of each tarsomere, tarsus of hindleg yellowish white, black at base of four apical tarsomeres on outside, basal tarsomere mixed with black scales on outside.
Forewing ground colour dusty grey, tinted with yellowish brown, with tiny dots of black scales; costal margin with black spots irregularly arranged, the one at middle largest; cell with two black spots obliquely placed near middle, edged with white scales, with a white spot before outer margin, surrounded by black scales, black scales above it diffused and forming a larger black patch, with a white dot on outer margin surrounded by black scales; terminal spots black; fringe blackish grey mixed with yellowish white. Hindwing and fringe grey.
Male genitalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 24‒29 ). Uncus represented by a papillary process. Socii sub-triangular, widely apart at base, distance between base almost as wide as posterior margin of tegumen. Gnathos fusiform, with fine spines. Valva wide basally, convex medially, distal 1/4 sharply narrowed, produced digitately. Transtilla a narrow band; transtilla lobes dilated, setose. Sacculus reaching 1/3 length of valva; cuiller short, leaf-shaped, reaching anterior 1/3 from costa. Juxta slightly concave medially on posterior margin, produced mediolaterally; lateral lobes dilated distally, apically not reaching posterior margin of juxta. Phallus slightly bent medially, wide in basal 1/4, uniformly slender medially, distal 1/5 slightly tapered; cornuti being numerous tiny spinules.
Female unknown.
Distribution. China (Sichuan).
Etymology. The specific epithet is derived from the Latin foliiformis , referring to the shape of the cuiller.
