ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: 1875c: 438.

TYPE LOCALITY: “ Insula Bonae Fortunae (Borneo) , Provincia Sarawak [ Bona Fortuna Island , Sarawak Province, Borneo]” ( Rondani 1875c: 421) .

TYPE MATERIAL: 1 ♀, holotype ( MSNG): Borneo, Sarawak, 1865/1866, Coll. Doria / Typus / Acanthipeza maculifrons Rond. / Acanthipeza maculifrons n° 31.

CURRENT STATUS: junior synonym of Adrama determinata (Walker, 1856) ( Hardy 1977: 73, Norrbom et al. 1999: 74).

REMARKS: Rondani (1875c: 438) described Acanthipeza maculifrons from just the female sex, without specifying the exact number of specimens, but giving a single measurement of length, from material collected by G. Doria and O. Beccari. Guiglia (1957: 193) and Raineri & Rey (1996: 57) reported the holotype (♀) in the MSNG.
