Chremistica pontianaka (Distant, 1888)

Moulton (1912) indicated in a table of the distributional range of the Bornean cicadid species that Chremistica pontianaka (Distant, 1888) occurs in “other islands” of Malaya, which included the Sulu Islands, the Moluccas, Amboina, Lombok, Sumbawa, Timor and Palawan. However, it is clear that the “other islands” refers only to the Sulu Island for this species considering its distribution specified in the text by Moulton (1912). Accordingly, the occurrence of this species in Palawan was incorrectly documented by Metcalf (1963a) and Salmah et al. (2005).

Tanna pallida Distant, 1906

Likewise, the “other islands” for Tanna pallida Distant, 1906 in the table by Moulton (1912) refers only to the Sulu Island. The occurrence of this species in Palawan was incorrectly documented by Metcalf (1963a).

The “other islands” for Dundubia rufivena Walker, 1850 in the table by Moulton (1912) refers only to the Moluccas and Sumbawa. The occurrence of this species in Palawan was incorrectly documented by Metcalf (1963a).
