About 1.74–1.88x longer than high. Mesonotum 1.18–1.36x longer than width of mesoscutum. Pronotum dorsally mostly smooth, weakly rugose near transverse carina posteriorly, with distinct mid-longitudinal carina anteriorly; 0.84–0.98x longer than vertex, the posterior region about 3xlonger than anterior region; laterally mostly smooth and polished except crenulation medially on pronotal groove, virtually devoid of setae. Mesonotum smooth and polished; mesoscutum with scattered setae medially and anteriorly, scutellar sulcus with one or two transverse lines of setae, scutellum with scattered setae mostly along margin; notauli present on anterior 0.30–0.34 of the mesoscutum, narrow and shallow but distinctly crenulate; mid pit elliptical, 0.59–0.63x the length of mesoscutum; scutellum 1.26–1.35x longer than wide, smooth and polished; scutellar sulcus 0.32–0.42x longer than wide, with one median carina; mesoscutellar trough costate proximally, smooth distally. Metanotum without median carina; median region with posterior carinate beak; laterally faintly costate with sparse setae. Mesopleuron bare on central portion, setae concentrated on anterior corner and ventrally; sternaulus very shallow and small, weakly crenulate or smooth; anterior corner of mesopleuron smooth. Epicnemial carina present ventrally, incomplete. Metapleuron mostly smooth but ventrally rugose, with long and scattered setae. Propodeum mostly rugose anteriorly with shallow basal sulcus along margin with metanotum; areola roughly pentagonal, with distinct cross-bridge and two pairs of transverse lateral carinae ( Fig. 19); median carina frequently connected with areola though posteriorly irregular. Hind coxa 1.36–1.55x longer than wide, 0.6–0.7x as long as metasomal TI. Hind basitarsus about 0.4x as long as hind tibia. Hind tarsal claws without basal lobe.  Wings.Fore wing. Stigma 3.4–3.8x longer than broad; vein r arising from middle of stigma. Vein r 0.54–0.59x longer than vein 3RSa. Vein 2RS sinuate, 1.0–1.1x longer than 3RSa.  Vein3 RSa0.37–0.39  x 3RSb and 1.5–1.6x as long as vein r-m. Vein1 Cub2.2–2.4x vein 1CUa. Vein(RS+M)b short, not pigmented. Vein1-1AC very short or virtually absent, less than 0.12x longer than vein 2-1 A. Hindwing. Vein M+CU about 1.8–1.9x longer than 1M.Vein cu-a about 0.5x as long as 1M.Vein r-m 0.49–0.60x as long as 1M.  Metasoma. TI 1.36–1.40x as long as apical width; rugose to areolate-rugose, laterally smooth; dorsal carinae short, present only basally, converging but not meeting; dorsope deep and large. Metasoma beyond petiole weakly sclerotized; TII about 1.9–2.6x longer than TIII. Ovipositor straight, 0.75–0.85x as long as hind tibia; ovipositor sheaths 0.78–0.94x longer than ovipositor.  Color. Head, mesosomaand petiole mostly dark brown or black. Mandibles orangish yellow with dark brown teeth. Palpi light yellow. Pronotum and propleuron brown; mesoscutum posteriorly, scutellar sulcus, scutellum, and mesopleuron at dorsal ¼ orange-brown to orangish yellow. Legs orangish yellow with apical ¼ of hind tibia and all tarsi light brown. Face and gena light brown with brown stain centrally variable. Antenna dark brown, scapus yellow-brown, pedicel brown. Metasoma beyond petiole yellowish, dorsally pale brown. Wings hyaline, veins brown.  Male. Similar to female, however none of the male specimens have the orangish markings on mesosoma, which is entirely dark brown. Body length 2.1–2.3 mm; antenna length 2.4–2.8 mm, 26–27 antennomers; fore wing 2.1–2.3 mm.   Biology.Unknown   Comments.Close to  A. longicollis  sp. n., it differs in the lighter face and yellow pronotum, both dark brown to black in  A. longicollis  sp. n.(see comments under  A. longicollis  sp. n.).  A. monteiroi  sp. n.have the metanotum medially with a distinct posterior carinate beak, and a line or two of setae on scutellar sulcus. This combination of characters is not seen in any other known  Andesipolisspecies (but  A. shawi  sp. n.have a similar beak, and few other species have the line of setae at scutellar sulcus). Other diagnostic characters are the sternaulus smooth, the fore wing vein 2-1A meeting vein 1-1A very close to vein 1cu-a, vein 1-1AC very short to virtually absent (like in  A. longicollis  sp. n.), and the fore wing vein 3 RSashorter than vein 2RS.   Distribution.Montane grasslands of ItatiaiaNational Park, Brazil, at 2,206–2,255 mabove sea level.   Etymology. The species is named after our colleague Ricardo Monteiroi, who along with his team collected this and several other typespecimens of  Andesipolisin the ItatiaiaNational Park.     Typematerial. Holotype, female (  DCBU 210482): “ Itatiaia, RJ, Brasil/ PARNAde Itatiaia/ Projeto Pensa Rio – Hympar/ S 22°23'38,9" W 44°39'59,7"/ Armadilha Malaise Pto. 7 /  09.viii.2013(  2.255 m) / R.F.
