A taxonomic revision of the Neotropical spider genus Xiruana Brescovit 1997 (Araneae: Anyphaenidae, Anyphaeninae) Oliveira, Luiz Fernando M. Brescovit, Antonio D. Male holotypefrom Jaboticabal( 21°15’18”S; 48°19’19”W), São Paulo, Brazil, 1979, L. Miller leg., deposited in MCZ.   Etymology. The specific name is a noun in apposition taken from the typelocality.   Diagnosis. Males of  Xiruana jaboticabal  n. sp.resemble those of  X. pocone  n. sp.by the palp with an extremely long base of conductor of Anyphaeninae, distant from the ventral tegular process, but differ by the anterior and posterior branches of the retrolateral tibial apophysis being extremely separated, and by the inconspicuous rounded median tibial apophysis ( Figs 10D–F).   Description. Male( Holotype). Coloration as in  X. hirsuta. Total length 7.1, carapace length 3.0, width 2.5. Clypeus height 0.12. Eye diameters and interdistances: AME 0.18, ALE 0.14, PME 0.14, PLE 0.14; AME–AME 0.02, AME–ALE 0.04, PME–PME 0.16, PME–PLE 0.1, ALE–PLE 0.02. Chelicerae 1.9 long, with four promarginal teeth and five retromarginal denticles. Leg measurements: Leg I—femur 3.3/ patella 1.5/ tibia 4.2/ metatarsus 4.0/ tarsus 1.6/ total 14.6; II—3.3/ 1.4/ 3.4/ 3.1/ 1.0/ 12.2; III—2.4/ 1.0/ 1.6/ 2.5/ 0.7/ 8.2; IV—3.5/ 1.2/ 3.1/ 4.2/ 1.0/ 13.0. Leg spination: I—tibia v2-2-0, p1-1-0, metatarsus v2-0-0, p0, r0; II—tibia v2-2-0, r0, metatarsus v2-0-0, r0; III—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1, metatarsus p1-0-1; IV—tibia p1-1-1, r1-1-1. Palp: conductor of Anyphaeninae elongated; median apophysis long and curved in the apex ( Figs 10A–F). Abdomen: length 4.1, epigastric furrow 0.8 from tracheal spiracle, spiracle 2.5 from base of spinnerets.  Female: Unknown.   Other material examined. Only the holotype.   Distribution. Known only from the typelocality ( Fig. 16A).
