Notes
Questionable status. Mediterranean records are rare and considered questionable ( Giangrande 1989). Knight-Jones and Perkins (1998) likewise consider Mediterranean specimens to belong to other species (e.g. the record by Iroso (1921) probably is a juvenile Bispira mariae (Lo Bianco, 1893)) and restrict the distribution of the species to the wider Caribbean area.
