TYPE LOCALITY: Turkey, Trebizond .

DISTRIBUTION: Macedonia ( Yugoslavia, Greece); Turkey; N. Iran.

COMMENT: Considered distinct from musculus by Marshall and Sage, 1981, Symp. Zool. Soc. Lond., 47:15-25. Probably includes spretus , with intermediate specimens from three localities in Egypt (JTM).
