COMMENT: Formerly included in Rattus by Ellerman, 1941:148, and in subgenus Bullimus of Rattus by Misonne, 1969, Ann. Mus . R. Afr. Cent. Tervuren, ser. 8, Sci. Zool., 172:141; but see Musser, 1981, Bull. Am. Mus . Nat. Hist., 169(2): 115, 137, who considered Bunomys and Bullimus distinct genera.
