TYPE LOCALITY: Sweden, Uppsala .
DISTRIBUTION: Europe to Altai Mtns., Pamirs, Himalayas, Afghanistan, and Israel; Morocco to Tunisia.
COMMENT: May hybridize with flavicollis ; see Corbet, 1978: 134, who included microtis in this species. Also see Kratochvil, 1962, Zool. Listy, 11: 15-26, who suggested that microtis may be conspecific with microps . May include krkensis ; see Williams et al., 1980, Mammalia, 44:245-258.
