TYPE LOCALITY: Malawi, Nyika Plateau .
DISTRIBUTION: N. Zambia; Malawi; N.E. Angola; S. Zaire; E. Zimbabwe.
COMMENT: Includes dollmani ; see Ansell, 1978:84. Delany, 1975, The Rodents of Uganda, Trustees Br. Mus . Nat. Hist., 165 pp., considered nyikae a synonym of kaiseri ; but Davis, 1975, Part 6.6:2-4, and Ansell, 1978:84, considered it a distinct species.
