TYPE LOCALITY: South Africa, near Cape Town .

DISTRIBUTION: Guinea and Mali to Cape Prov. and Natal ( South Africa).

COMMENT: Includes buntingi and gigas ; see Misonne, 1974, Part 6:31, who included dolichurus in Thamnomys ; but see comment under genus.
