TYPE LOCALITY: Burma (Tenasserim), Mt. Mulaiyit, 5000-6000 ft. (1524-1829 m) .

DISTRIBUTION: Mountains of Assam ( India), S. Burma, and Vietnam.

COMMENT: Formerly included in confucianus and cremoriventer ; provisionally considered a distinct species by Musser, 1981, Bull. Am. Mus . Nat. Hist., 168(3):237, 253.
