Area between upper eye lobes rugose, with sparse, shallow punctures slightly larger and shallow than on elytra; erect and elongate setae sparsely distributed. Gulamentum with elongate, sparse erect setae. Scape coarsely rugose. Antennal formula (ratio) based on length of antennomere III: scape = 0,55; pedicel = 0,14; IV = 1,05; V =1,15; VI = 1,13; VII = 0,93; VIII = 1,01; IX = 0,97; X= 0,96; XI = 0,95; XII=0,94.

Pronotum with slight, irregular wrinkles; anteromedial area with two shallow depressions; posterior constriction pubescent (pubescence prolonged toward sides of prothorax); surface with long, erect setae sparsely distributed. Prosternal process narrow at middle, about 1/6 of width of procoxal cavity, wider toward apex. Scutellum with pubescence on posterior margins.
Dimensions (in mm). Total length, 6.6; prothorax length, 1.2; greatest width of prothorax, 0.9; humeral width, 1.1; elytral length, 4.4.
Type material. Holotype male from BRAZIL, Bahia, Piatã ( Cachoeira do Patrício ; 13°05’11.1” S / 41°51’13.3”W; 1.256 m), 04–05.XI.2013, Nascimento F.E., Menezes E., Carvalho J., Cordeiro D. & Bravo F. col. ( MZFS). GoogleMaps
Etymology. This species is named in honor of Antonio Santos-Silva for his work and commitment to the taxonomy of Cerambycidae .
Remarks. In addition to the generic characteristics, Acangarana santossilvai sp. nov. is easily differentiated from Acangassu diminuta Galileo & Martins, 2001 by the reddish-brown integument without spots on the elytra. Acangassu diminuta has reddish integument on the head and prothorax, antennae and legs are yellowish and the elytra are reddish, gradually yellowish toward apex, and with yellowish spots.
