Puthz, 1991: 42 (subgenus Parastenus ; Type locality: Nepal: Khandbari District: Pass nordöstlich von Mangmaya, 2300 m); Herman, 2001a: 2273; Smetana, 2004: 544 (Palaearctic catalog); Puthz 2013a: 1400; Schülke & Smetana, 2015: 828 (Palaearctic catalog).
Material examined: China: Hainan: Jianfengling , 2 males, 24.III.2008, Liang Li leg. (IZ-CAS) ; Yunnan: Xishuangbanna Botanic Gardens , 1 female, under fallen leaves, 20.IV. 1997. Yun-Fa Han leg. (IZ-CAS).
Remarks: This species can be distinguished from S. zhangyejunianus Lv et Zhou , sp. nov by the following characters: larger elytra spot, elytra different in sharp and aedeagus ( Figs. 7 A View FIGURE 7 & 8 A View FIGURE 8 ). To distinguish from S. nabanhensis Lv et Zhou , sp. nov by with orange spot.
