Sinopoda kambaiti View in CoL spec. nov.

Figs 19 View FIGURES 19 a–c, 63 a–b

Type material: Holotype: male (SD 1435), MYANMAR: Kachin State: N.E. Myanmar, Kambaiti, 2133 m, Malaise trap, 1934 ( NHRS).

Etymology: The species name is derived from the type locality; term in apposition.

Diagnosis: Males of S. kambaiti spec. nov. are similar to those of S. bifurca spec. nov. ( Figs. 4 View FIGURES 4 a–c) and S. improcera Zhong et al., 2019 in having an embolic tip with a tooth-shaped apophysis. They can be distinguished from S. bifurca spec. nov. by 1. embolic apophysis without thorn-shaped apophysis and tip tapering (with small thornshaped apophysis and tip triangular-shaped in S. bifurca spec. nov.), 2. tegulum proximally nearly two-third of the width of cymbium (nearly completely the width of cymbium in S. bifurca spec. nov.), 3. spermophore with distal part wide in ventral view (distal part tapering in ventral view in S. bifurca spec. nov.) and 4. vRTA with tip tapering, dRTA straight, ventro-distad and with small spike at median part in retrolateral view (vRTA with tip rounded and dRTA curved, distad and without small spike at median part in retrolateral view in S. bifurca spec. nov.); from S. improcera by 1. embolus shorter than embolic apophysis in ventral view (embolus slightly shorter than embolic apophysis in ventral view in S. improcera ), 2. embolic apophysis without distinct hook-shaped apophysis (with distinct hook-shaped apophysis in S. improcera ), 3. tegulum proximally nearly two-third of the width of cymbium (nearly half of the width of cymbium in S. improcera ), 4. cymbium not bulging retrolaterally at median part in ventral view (bulging retrolaterally at median part in ventral view in S. improcera ) and 5. vRTA with tip tapering and wider than proximal part of dRTA in retrolateral view (vRTA with tip rounded and nearly as wide as proximal part of dRTA in retrolateral view in S. improcera ).

Description: Male (holotype): Total length 9.80; prosoma 5.10 long, 4.80 wide, anterior width of prosoma 2.10; opisthosoma 4.50 long, 2.80 wide. Eye measurements: AME 0.22; ALE 0.33; PME 0.21; PLE 0.32; AME– AME 0.19; AME–ALE 0.06; PME–PME 0.28; PME–PLE 0.32; AME–PME 0.34; ALE–PLE 0.31; clypeus AME 0.31; clypeus ALE 0.28. Measurements of palp and legs [I: missing]: palp: 7.30 (2.20, 1.10, 1.80, 2.20); II: 23.50 (6.40, 2.40, 6.50, 6.10, 2.10); III: 18.70 (5.30, 2.10, 5.00, 4.70, 1.60); IV: 20.20 (5.60, 1.90, 5.30, 5.50, 1.90). Spination: palp: 131, 101, 2111; legs: Fe II 323, III 322, IV 132; Pa II–III 101, IV 000; Ti II–IV 2326; Mt II 1014, III 3036, IV 2056. Cheliceral furrow with 3 anterior and 4 posterior teeth.

Colouration in ethanol: Prosoma yellowish-brown, medially with dark brown stripes, posterior part with yellow transversal stripe, latero-posterior margin brown. Sternum yellowish-white with brown margin. Opisthosoma yellow with brown spots, ventral part yellow, laterally with brown dots. Chelicerae light brown. Palps yellow. Legs yellow; Fe distally brownish.

Palp as in diagnosis. Embolus long, slightly curved and slender. Embolic apophysis with proximal part thick, distal part curved prolaterally, tip narrow and bent distally. Conductor arising from 1-o’clock-position, reaching distally as far as embolic apophysis, distal part in retrolateral view ventrad. dRTA longer than vRTA, slender. vRTA in retrolateral view wider than dRTA.

Female: Unknown.

Distribution: Known only from the type locality.
