Extended diagnosis: Males of S. scurion spec. nov. can be distinguished from other Sinopoda species by the combination of the following characters: 1. having no eyes or remnants of eyes, 2. elongated male palpal tibia and cymbium, 3. vRTA distally with small spike and 4. embolic apophysis S-shaped and with wide tip.

Description: Male: Total length 8.10; prosoma 4.30 long, 3.70 wide, anterior width of prosoma 1.80; opisthosoma 3.80 long, 2.00 wide. Eyes including lenses, pigments or remnants absent. Measurements of palp and legs [II: missing]: palp: 9.15 (3.20, 1.30, 2.00, 2.65); I: 35.60 (9.00, 3.00, 11.00, 10.20, 2.40); III: 31.10 (8.70, 2.70, 9.20, 8.60, 1.90); IV: 32.25 (9.00, 2.50, 9.30, 9.45, 2.00). Spination: palp: 131, 101, 2111, 2010; legs: Fe I&III 323, IV 311; Pa I 001, III–IV 000; Ti I&III–IV 2226; Mt I 2024, III 2026, IV 3036. Cheliceral furrow with 3 anterior and 4 posterior teeth.

Colouration in ethanol: Prosoma yellowish-white, medially with brown yellow stripes. Sternum yellowishwhite, laterally with brown margin. Opisthosoma dorsal and ventral part yellowish-white without any pattern. Chelicerae light yellowish-brown. Palps and legs yellowish-white.

Palp as in diagnosis. Embolic apophysis longer than embolus. Embolus slightly curved and slender. Conductor moderately wide, arising from 1-o’clock-position. Tegulum small, not covering embolus base. Spermophore nearly straight in ventral view. dRTA longer than vRTA, tapering in ventral view, slightly curved in retrolateral view. vRTA wider than dRTA, short and tip rounded in retrolateral view.

Variation: Male: much paler in general appearance. Prosoma, chelicerae, palps and legs yellowish-white without any patterning. Total length 6.90; prosoma 3.50 long, 3.10 wide; opisthosoma 3.40 long, 1.90 wide. Measurements leg I: total length 29.80, Fe 7.60, Pa 2.50, Ti 9.00, Mt 8.50, Ta 2.20. Spination: legs: Fe IV 331; Pa I 000; Ti I–III 2126.
