Description. Body light reddish-brown ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 20–29 ) except antennae, boundless longitudinal patch on frontoclypeal region, labrum, disc of pronotum, anterior margin of visible tergites II–IV, larger part of anterior margin of visible tergites V–VII, narrow part of lateral side of visible sternites III–IV and larger part of anterior margin of visible sternites V–VII brown.
Head rectangular, dull, slightly longer than wide, ratio HW/HL: ♀ 0.88, ♁ 0.88, with deep, wide, round frontal median impression which is microsculptured and with large shallow punctures; disc of head microsculptured with fine punctures; length of eyes ♀: 0.23x, ♁: 0.24x of length of head; eyes very slightly protuberant, temples slightly convergent posteriad.
Antennae long, scape ♀ 1.46x, ♁ 1.61x as long as wide and ♀ 2.11x, ♁ 2.65x as long as pedicel, pedicel ♀ 1.12x ♁ 0.88x as long as wide, antennomere III: ♀ 1.22x, ♁ 1.66x, IV: ♀ 1.10x, ♁ 1.10x as long as wide, antennomeres V–VIII elongate oval, terminal antennomere slender and acute, ♀ 1.47x, ♁ 1.38x as long as scape, relative length of antennomeres from base to apex: ♀: 19: 8: 11: 10: 12: 12: 13: 13: 13: 12: 28; ♁: 21: 8: 15: 11: 12: 12: 14: 14: 14: 14: 29.
Pronotum ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 20–29 ) trapezoidal, ratio PW/PL: ♀ 1.50, ♁ 1.61, with clearly concave anterior margin, well-marked obtuse anterior corners, lateral sides in anterior third broadly rounded, in second third subparallel, in posterior third slightly convergent posteriad, posterior corners acute, bearing deep lateral microsculptured, sparcely punctate impressions, impressions in posterior margin with uneven cluster of few deep punctures, pronotal disc markedly microsculptured, with sparse, uneven puncturation, tubercles well-defined; median line well-defined, narrow; in lateral view lateral margins in anterior half thick, narrowed anteriad, in posterior half narrow, lacking visible sharp edge; maximal width of pronotum at posterior corners, here slightly narrower than elytra at humeri; pronotum with reduced number of macrosetae, anterior margin with two–four macrosetae, lateral margins in posterior corners with one macroseta.
Anterior and lateral margins of metaventral process ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 20–29 ) concave, anterior part with lateral lines, convergent anteriad, in anterior part lateral lines connected with transverse carinate elevation; posterior part in median line with small, oval, deep lentil-like impression, metaventral process microsculptured and punctate; disc of metaventrite with longitudinal narrow and shalow impressions on sides of median line, impressions divergent posteriad, metaventrite microsculptured and unevenly sparcely punctate, discal setae short, not reaching margin of adjacent puncture.
Elytra finely punctate, ♀ 0.89x, ♁ 0.85x as long as pronotum, ratio EW/EL: ♀ 2.06, ♁ 2.20; with three macrosetae in anterior part, humeral part lacking macrosetae, distance between punctures on disc about 1–2x diameter of puncture.
Abdomen with visible tergite II densely punctate and setaceous, visible tergites III–IV with dense and V with sparse puncturation on posterior margin, visible tergites VI–VII very sparsely and finely punctate at posterior and lateral margins, visible tergites II–VIII unevenly but distinctly microsculptured.
Aedeagus ( Figs 22–23 View FIGURES 20–29 ) with slender median lobe, apical lobe tube-like, distinctly shorter than basal bulb, apical part short and plump, with dense pseudopores, in lateral view ventral side slightly convex, apex slightly sharp, lateral sides of apical lobe in ventral view slightly convergent apically. Apical lobe of parameres subparallel ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 20–29 ), hook-shaped and bent backwards, apex with about 6 setae, lacking minute microsetae.
Spermatheca ( Figs 26–28 View FIGURES 20–29 ) with apical part 1.26x as long as basal part and 1.26x wider than basal extended part and 2.41x as long as wide, apical part subparallel apically and apex rounded.
Measurements. (♀, Holotype): TL 5.00 mm; FB 2.45 mm; HL 0.85 mm; HW 0.75 mm; antennal length 2.42 mm; PL 0.90 mm; PW 1.35 mm; EL 0.80 mm; EW 1.65 mm; FTL 0.92 mm; MTL 1.10 mm; HTL 1.35 mm. (♁, Lectotype of L. mariae ): TL 5.50 mm; FB 2.85 mm; HL 0.90 mm; HW 0.80 mm; antennal length 2.65 mm; PL 0.97 mm; PW 1.56 mm; EL 0.82 mm; EW 1.80 mm; FTL 0.95 mm; MTL 1.25 mm; HTL 1.47 mm.
Differential diagnosis. L. inflatus is very similar to L. drobovi , L. chekanovskiyi , L. inflatiformis and L. poppiusi . From L. drobovi , L. chekanovskiyi and L. poppiusi it differs by the bicoloured pronotum. From L. inflatiformis it differs by the narrower, light reddish lateral margins of pronotum with visible discal tubercles, by antennomeres III–IV in males with longer setae ( Fig. 29 View FIGURES 20–29 ) and by the darker head.
Host ant. Formica gagatoides Ruzsky, 1904 (det. Juho Paukkunen), Formica rufa Linnaeus, 1761 , Formica pratensis Retrius, 1783 and probably also Formica sanguinea Latreille, 1798 .
Distribution. Finland, Russia (peninsula Kola), Sweden.
