Diagnose: EpiIII und IV median jeweils miteinander verbunden (Unterschied zu M. willmanni Norton et al., 1996, aus Nordamerika.). Körperlänge 580-800 µm.

Syn., Tax.: Malaconothrus nasalis Willmann, 1929. Mucronothrus n. : Willmann 1933 (B); Trave 1973 (B); Balogh & Mahunka 1983 (B); Norton et al. 1996 (B); Weigmann 1997a, b (B).
