Lepidurus lemmoni Holmes, 1894 View in CoL

New records. OREGON: Lake Co.: Christmas Lake, May 1999, reared from soil on 20 March 2000. Goose Lake, near Goose Lake State Park, 5 August 2011, D. Banks, det. D.C. Rogers.

Comments. Lepidurus lemmoni occurs in highly turbid habitats that are high in salinity and carbonates (Rogers 2001). Lynch collected L. lemmoni from Goose Lake on 14 June 1940 and Linder (1952) described them as L. lynchi var. echinatus . Neither Lynch or Linder noted that Goose Lake has endemic fish species (Scheerer et al. 2010) (see discussion on predator responses in Rogers 2001).
