Melanopsis tanousi Bourguignat, 1884

Original source.

Bourguignat 1884: 137.

Type locality.

"Dans les cours d’eau de la plaine du Bahr-el-Houlé, non loin d’Ain-el-Mellaha” [in the rivers of the plains of the Hula valley, near Aïn Mallahah], Israel.

Remarks.

Bourguignat (1884) denoted the authority as "Letourneux, 1882", but there is no evidence that the description really derived from that author. Heller et al. (2005: 244) considered the species as a junior synonym of Melanopsis lampra  Bourguignat, 1884.
