Distribution. Caribbean coastline of northern South America to Surinam; Venezuela, Trinidad, Aruba and Curaçao ( Kraepelin 1903; Attems 1930; Bücherl 1942; Shelley & Kiser 2000; Shelley 2006). All records from Haiti, Honduras, Mexico, St. Thomas, and U. S. Virgin Islands represent accidental human introductions or labelling errors ( Shelley 2006). In Colombia it is known only from the Caribbean Región.

Altitudinal range. 9 to 40 m.
