Heterotropus munroi Bezzi, 1926: 246 .
Heterotropus munroi was described from a singe female and Hesse (1938) had females only for his redescription. Specimens from Namibia View in CoL , including both sexes, have been found in the collections of the BMNH, also a pair labelled with the same locality and date from Botswana enable a description of the male and illustration of the male genitalia. The female genitalia are similar to those of the three species described by Yeates & Irwin (1992) and have elongate, more or less cylindrical spermathecal bulbs (Fig., 4) unlike H. apertus with globular bulbs.
Description. Male. Head: ivory; ocellar triangle, upper part of occiput and middle of occiput black. Eyes in contact of about length of ocellar triangle. Face conical but not as prominent as in females (see Hesse, 1938: 821, Fig., 247). Thorax: black, yellow along notopleural line extending across middle of scutellum, also a broad yellow band across middle of pleura. Legs: yellow, but tarsi blackened at their apices. Abdomen: terga black with narrow pale hind margins. Sterna mostly yellow. Genitalia (Fig., 3) gonostylus elongate and curled at apex and without a median arm; dorsal process of gonocoxa elongate and with two thornlike projections; aedeagus trifid.
Material examined. NAMIBIA : 1♂, Windhoek, SE 2217 Ca , 18–24.ii.1974, H17623 ; 1♀, same data except, 25.ii.–5.iii.1974, H17783 ; 1♀, Omaruru , Otjikoko Süd Farm, 33 miles ENE, 10–13.ii.1972, Southern African Expedition, W36 ( BMNH) ; 1♂, 8 miles W Gobabis , 11.iv.1972, Southern African Expedition, W 55 ( BMNH) .
