Material examined. 1 male. CHINA, Hainan province, Jianfengling Nature Reserve , 29-X-2005, leg. Liu-sheng Chen and Min Wang. 1 male. CHINA, Guangdong province, Shimentai Nature Reserve , altitude 150 m, 14-IV- 2017, leg. Fu-hong Wei, Shi-fang Mo and Tian-tian Yu ( SCAU) .

Identification notes. Wingspan about 41 mm. Forewing reddish purple, reniform and orbicular stigma blackish purple with white edge. Hindwing without discal spot, terminal band narrow.

Diagnosis. This species is characterized by the continuous and narrow terminal band of hindwing and gradually dilating from costa to anal angle.

S. subalba is similar to S. transiens , but the area around orbicular stigma of forewing is with greyish white scales in S. subalba ; hindwing with the terminal band is narrower in S. subalba than in S. transiens .

Distribution. China (Guangdong, Hainan), Nepal, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Malay Peninsula ( Kononenko & Pinratana 2013).
