Type Locality: "Batu Sang Mount [Mt. Batu Song], Baram River, N. Borneo (5000 feet)" [Baram Dist., Sarawak, Malaysia, 1524 m].
Vernacular Names: Four-striped Ground Squirrel.
Distribution: Mountains of Sarawak and Sabah ( Malaysia).
Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.
Discussion: Sometimes put in the genus Paralariscus ; see Ellerman (1947 b:259); but also see Medway (1977:97).
