TYPE LOCALITY: Indonesia, Irian Jaya, Vogelkop, Manokwari Div., Arfak Mtns .

DISTRIBUTION: Interior New Guinea; Salawati Isl ( Indonesia).

STATUS: CITES - Appendix II; IUCN - Vulnerable.

SYNONYMS: bartoni , bubuensis, dunius, galaris, goodfellowi , nigroaculeatus, pallidus , tridactyla, villosissima.

COMMENTS: Includes bartoni and bubuensis; see Van Deusen and George (1969:22).
