Type material examined. 2 exx. Syntype (NHM): card-mounted, “ Cyphanus \ granulosus ♂.” [in Broun’s hand], “New Zealand. [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.”, “Rangiahua. \ Hokianga.”, “3069” [in Broun’s hand]. Syntype (NHM): " Cyphanus \ granulosus ♂.” [in Broun’s hand], “New Zealand. [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.”, “Rangiahua. \ Hokianga.”, “3069” [in Broun’s hand].

Remarks. Broun (1910) examined two specimens, both from Rangiahua, Hokianga.
