Type material examined. 6 exx. Syntypes ( NHM): 2 specimens, card-mounted, “2025.” [in Broun’s hand], “ Mount Arthur ”, “ New Zealand . [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.”, “ Mesocyphon laticeps ” [handwritten]. Syntypes ( NHM): 2 specimens, card-mounted, “var. \ 2025.” [in Broun’s hand], “ Mount \ Arthur ” [in Broun’s hand], “ New Zealand . [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.” Syntypes ( NHM): 2 specimens, card-mounted, “var. \ 2025.” [in Broun’s hand], “ Mount \ Arthur ” [in Broun’s hand], “ New Zealand. [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.”

Remarks. Broun (1893) examined numerous specimens from Mount Arthur collected by Cheeseman and Adams.
