Type locality. New Zealand.

Broun number: 563.

Type material examined. 1 ex. Holotype ( NHM): pinned onto card, “ Type ” [round label with red border], “ New Zealand ” [handwritten], “ Atopida castanea White \ Zool. Ereb. & Terror \ Kaudi. Hooker” [handwritten].

Remarks. Type specimen was collected on kaudi [sic] (= kauri, Agathis australis ) trees.
