Cionophora soongi Ross and Newman, 1999 , Japan, MTQ W-13662 from A. incrustans
Bernard, 1896 (AIMS), Kushimoto. Note: As it turns out, Cionophora Ross and Newman,
1999 is preoccupied and therefore a replacement name will be proposed by these authors.
Diagnosis (amended, primarily to include the characteristics of the basis). Wall coalescent, ornamented externally by rows of tall pillars; opercular plates coalescent, scutal portion transversely elongate, disproportionately greater in size than tergal portion; adductor ledge (limbus adductorum) large; spur long, narrow, with furrow partially closed. Basis calcareous, solid, with deep longitudinal grooves to receive the radial septa of the wall.
Type species. Cionophora soongi Ross and Newman, 1999 .
