Mutilla miranda Smith, 1855: 33 , ♂, type locality: India, syntypes in OUMNH; Bingham 1897: 10, 50, ♂ .
Odontomutilla miranda: André 1902: 29 , ♂; Lelej 2005: 116, ♂.
Diagnosis. FEMALE. Unknown. MALE (see Smith 1855). Head ferruginous. T2 with two pale spots located transversely near the middle.
Material examined. No specimens examined.
Distribution. Northwestern India.
Remark. The male of this species has an unique character among the species of the genus: T2 with two pale spots located transversely near the middle. The type locality of Mutilla miranda is possibly in Northern India since Mutilla dives Smith, 1855 , also described from the collection of W.W. Saunders, is distributed in North India, Pakistan, and South Iran.
