Distribution. Introduced. Australasian/ Oceanian, Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Floreana, Marchena (ICCDRS), San Cristóbal, Santa Cruz, Santa Fé.

Remarks. This is a synanthropic species breeding in a variety of decaying materials ( Pape 1994). Reared from cadaver of Geospiza fortis and Microlophus albemarlensis (Lehnen et al. unpubl.)
