Remarks. Adults of this species were swept from dung and range from littoral to highland humid zones. This species is associated with beaches, living as a saprophage. It is found from Nearctic Mexico to Paraguay, and occurs otherwise on the Marshall Islands (an important US military base during WWII) where it was most likely introduced (T. Pape pers. comm.).
