Distribution. Introduced. Nearctic, Neotropical, Pacific islands; Galápagos: Floreana, Isabela (ICCDRS), Marchena (ICCDRS), San Cristóbal, Santa Fé (ICCDRS), Seymour (ICCDRS).
Material examined. Galápagos: Floreana: Black Beach,arid zone, 25.iii.1989,reared from rotting Jasminocereus, B.J. Sinclair (15 ♁, 8 ♀, CNC). San Cristóbal: 3 kmE Baquerizo , 100 m, trans. zone, 12–23.ii.1989, FIT, S.B. Peck & B.J. Sinclair (2 ♁, 7 ♀, CNC) .
Remarks. Adults of this species were reared from rotting branches of Jasminocereus cactus.
