Tephritis capitata Wiedemann, 1824: 55 View in CoL .

Distribution. Introduced. Cosmopolitan; Galápagos: Floreana, Isabela, San Cristobal, Santa Cruz.

Remarks. Ceratitis capitata was first registered in 2008. Chemical and physical control methods were employed soon after, but were unsuccessful in containing fly populations. Sterile insect technique is now in use to reduce fly populations ( Pérez-Staples et al. 2021).
