Distribution. Introduced. Cosmopolitan; Galápagos: Isabela, Santa Cruz.

Remarks. This is a synanthropic species and in the Galápagos, it has been reared from tortoise dung collected fresh in the agricultural zone in the highlands of Santa Cruz (Reserva Pajáro Brujo). On Isabela, this species was reared from a small ground finch ( Geospiza fuliginosa ) carcass collected fresh in the highlands (Lehnen et al. unpubl.).
