Phalonidia mesotypa Razowski, 1970: 229 . Type locality: China (Kiangsu Province, Shanghai). Piercea mesotypa Razowski, 1991: 107 .
Gynnidomorpha mesotypa: Razowski, 2009: 55 . [previous combination not seen]
Material examined. CHINA: Guizhou Province: 1 Ƥ, Xiasi Village, Kuankuoshui Nature Reserves, Suiyang County (27°58ʹN, 107°11ʹE), 840 m, 9.vi.2010, leg. Linlin Yang. Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 7 View FIGURES 2 – 7 ). Wingspan 13.0−14.0 mm. This species can be easily distinguished from its congeners by the socius dilated distally in the male genitalia ( Fig. 16 View FIGURES 16 – 20 ), and by the heavily sclerotized ductus bursae with densely transverse wrinkles in the female genitalia ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 25 – 28 ). It is similar to G. vectisana (Humphreys & Westwood, 1845) in appearance, but G. m e s o t y p a can be distinguished by the absence of the subapical fascia on the forewing, which is present in G. vectisana .
Distribution. China (Guizhou, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Shanghai), Japan.
Hostplant. Sagittaria sp. ( Alismataceae ) (Kawabe 1982).
