Key to the species of Malipatilius View in CoL
1. Profemur thick (more than 2 times thicker than meso- and metafemora), its larger tooth thick and short, curved; basiflagellum heavily incrassate (at most 3.4 times as long as wide); pronotum only slightly narrowing (width at humeral angles: width at transversal furrow ratio at most 1.19). Antenna short (body more than 2.75 times longer than antenna), dark except scape. Mostly larger than 4 mm. Australia................................................. M. forticornis ( Gross, 1965) View in CoL
- Profemur slender (less than 1.5 times thicker than meso- and metafemora), its larger tooth slender, straight; basiflagellum not or moderately incrassate (usually more than 5.5 times longer than wide, if only 3.5 times as long as wide then body smaller than 3.0 mm); pronotum strongly narrowing (width at humeral angles: width at transversal furrow ratio usually over 1.35, if only 1.25 then body smaller than 3.0 mm). Antenna longer (body less than 2.6 times longer than antenna), scape not paler than rest of antennal segments. New Guinea....................................................................... 2
2. Small, stout species, total length less than 2.5 mm, body less than 2.9 times as long as wide at humeral angles. Pedicel at least 2 times longer than scape, if not, posterior margin of pronotum less than 2 times wider than anterior margin............. 3
- Larger, slender species, total length above 3.7 mm, body more than 3.2 times as long as wide at humeral angles. Pedicel less than 1.75 times longer than scape and posterior margin of pronotum at least 2.2 times wider than anterior margin......... 4
3. Most of body, especially lateral margins of pronotum and corium and most of abdomen covered with long, dense setae. Scape more than 0.75 times as long as head; pedicel about 1.5 times longer than scape................. M. szentivanyi sp. nov.
- Body glabrous, or at most, only hardly visibly pubescent. Scape only about half as long as head; pedicel at least 2.0 times as long as scape......................................................................... M. minutus sp. nov.
4. Basiflagellum incrassate, about 4.0 times longer than thick; eye large (interocular distance only 1.64 times greater than eye width); eye more than 2.5 times longer than antenniferous tubercle............................. M. macrops sp. nov.
- Basiflagellum slender, at least 5.8 times longer than thick; eye smaller (interocular distance at least 1.86 times greater than eye width); eye at most 2.3 times longer than antenniferous tubercle................................................ 6
6. Body with long, erect pubescence; pedicel hardly longer than basiflagellum; scutellum almost 2.5 times longer than claval commissure........................................................................... M. pilosus sp. nov.
- Body without long setae; pedicel at least 1.1 times longer than basiflagellum; scutellum at most 2.2 times longer than claval commissure......................................................................................... 7
7. Eye small, less than 1.45 times as long as antenniferous tubercle and interocular distance more than 2.9 times greater than eye width............................................................................... M. microps sp. nov.
- Eye larger, at least 1.58 times as long as antenniferous tubercle, interocular distance less than 2.25 times greater than eye width.............................................................................................. 8
8. Humeral angle of posterior lobe of pronotum rounded; antenniferous tubercle shorter (eye more than 2.0 times as long as antenniferous tubercle)................................................................. M. horvathi sp. nov.
- Humeral angle of posterior lobe of pronotum acute; antenniferous tubercle longer (eye less than 1.8 times as long as antenniferous tubercle)............................................................................................ 9
9. Posterior lobe of pronotum and brown areas of fore wing darker. Basiflagellum slender, more than 6.8 times longer than wide; scutellum shorter than wide. Raja Ampat................................................. M. batantensis sp. nov.
- Posterior lobe of pronotum and brown areas of fore wing lighter. Basiflagellum less than 6.2 times longer than wide; scutellum slightly longer than wide. Eastern New Guinea.......................................... M. bodisjuditae sp. nov.
