Pachycheles biocellatus Lockington, 1878 View in CoL

Material examined. The northern site of collected specimens was Pichilinguillo, one male (ICMyL MAZ 9316A), one female (ICMyL MAZ 9316B), and one ovigerous female (ICMyL MAZ 9316C). The southernmost site in our data was Estacahuite were we collected four females (ICMyL MAZ 9320A).

Remarks. This porcellanid crab has a wide distribution in the Eastern tropical Pacific with records from the Gulf of California by Villalobos-Hiriart et al. (1989), the Huatulco region (Ramírez-Luna et al. 2002), and the Acapulco region (see Pereyra 1998). We found P. biocellatus at several sites along the study area, from Pichilinguillo to the Huatulco region, which confirms its presence on the Mexican tropical Pacific coast.
