Material examined. Only two specimens were collected at La Manzanilla (ICMyL MAZ 9325).

Remarks. Recorded from the Gulf of California to Santa Elena, Ecuador (Villalobos-Hiriart et al. 1989), this species has a wide range in the Eastern Pacific. Records of P. panamensis have been from the Gulf of California to the Huatulco region (Ramírez-Luna et al., 2002). We recorded this species only once at La Manzanilla.
